Preaching coaching
Most pastors wish their preaching was better but don’t know how to develop while on the job.
Each week we find ourselves scrambling to the pulpit with the best we have to offer. Thirty minutes later we walk out of the pulpit wishing we could give it one more try!
Athletes have coaches to help them reach their peak performance. Sadly, most preachers don’t do this. We rarely take the time and invest the energy to go back and sharpen our skills in preaching. So over time we get rusty and give up on ever really developing as preachers.
I have been coaching preachers one-on-one for years. Recently, in an attempt to make my coaching more accessible, I have created an online preaching course. The course tackles nine of the most common mistakes I’ve seen preachers make—mistakes I’ve made myself. I share how to identify and correct those mistakes, how to structure a message for a modern audience, how to launch a message, how to write notes that allow for maximum eye contact, how to avoid the trap of “preaching to the choir,” and so much more.
Marketplace coaching
I am painfully aware how isolating and challenging being a point leader can be. After pastoring a church full of business owners, C-suite leaders and entrepreneurs I saw these leaders dealing with bone-crushing stress and soul-crushing misaligned priorities. Family units, marriages and personal health suffer when we allow the marketplace to carry us away. I provide one-on-one personalized coaching for business leaders helping them learn how to pattern their lives around emotional, relational, and spiritual health while creating a path forward.
