Abiding for a Purpose

John 15 tells us that we’re abiding in Christ when we’re living in Him and He’s living in us. And then goes on to explain that it’s through our abiding in Christ that we will bear much fruit and prove to be His disciples.

What do disciples of Jesus Christ do? The great commission from Jesus is for us to “Go therefore and make disciples…” (Matthew 28:19). So, how are you doing making disciples?

For many of us, just the idea makes us tongue-tied and our palms sweat. Why do we get flustered over the idea of making disciples for Jesus, whom we love and trust? Maybe it’s because we’ve made it more difficult and complicated than it actually is.

In this message, Pete Briscoe teaches from John 2 and John 15 to show how simple, rich, deep, and beautiful abiding is and what bearing fruit looks like in the life of a disciple who is abiding in Jesus.
